Modelmaking

In addition to our architecture services, we also take on bespoke model commissions.

We’re happy to discuss any ideas you might have – we’ve worked on everything from maps and site models, to house portraits and interior studies - and love discussing the details.

Whilst all our model commissions are completely unique, our standard service is provided as follows:

  1. Proposal: We receive your proposal for a bespoke model of a building or site. 

  2. Briefing Questionnaire: We send out a questionnaire for you to detail your requirements. We also ask that you send through any pertinent information you have – drawings, 3D models, maps, photos etc.

  3. Briefing Meeting (Optional): We discuss the brief in a dedicated online meeting to ensure we completely understand what you require, and any key priorities.

  4. Quote: You will receive a quote confirming the size, style, timescale and price of the model.

  5. Deposit: If you’re happy with your quote, we ask you to sign off our proposal and pay a deposit (25% of the total amount).

  6. Construction: We will handcraft your model, creating numerous paper nets to carefully cut, fold and assemble each component to your specifications.

  7. Delivery: Once completed, we will arrange for the model to be delivered directly to you.

  8. Final Payment: On receipt of the model, you will sign off and pay the remaining fee (75% of the total amount).

Our models are handcrafted using only paper, glue and delicate scalpel work. Each element is constructed from flat paper ‘nets’ which are scored, folded and assembled to carefully build up colour, texture and detail.
